Meet Sneakers, the world's cutest dog!

I know, I know... everyone thinks their own dog is the cutest dog in the world. We have tried to tell Sneakers this but he just won't listen "~)

The 'Sneakdance'
The 'Sneakdance'

Sneakers is a 13 pound Shitzu, born July 3 of 2001, with a great disposition and four white feet. His name was obvious from day one. He is friendly and calm. He has a large vocabulary of words he can understand, and a smaller vocabulary of words he can speak (mostly "eruff").

As a tall guy, I was not a fan of little dogs until I took this one home, and began to notice some VERY distinct advantages of a smaller dog.

There are obvious things, like lower "input" equaling lower "output". I was surprised at how easy he was to housebreak and train for good dogmanners. But what really amazed me was how well he traveled. He travels better than a human child, better than a large dog, and (frankly) better than his human companions do.

This little guy goes everywhere with me, and the longer the roadtrip the better. Resting on the passenger's seat, he would calmly watch the world woosh by, occasionally giving me a look and a sigh that translated into "time for a walk, Dad".

The high price of being cute

If my wife had the passenger seat, the back seat is just fine. And we could even occasionally indulge in a travelling lap dog, something I could never have even considered with our sweet natured old airedale.

He arrives rested, happy to be out of the car (which I share), and ready to do it all again the next day (like I say, he travels better than I do). And once there, he is game for anything, be it an urban excursion through hotels or one of our family outings in the North Carolina Appalacians. Hiking a trail, swimming in cold mountain water... hey, no problem. Everyone loves this dog.

As I work on constructing and promoting these travel sites, this one was of all of them a labor of love. For most of the many long hours it takes to make a successful website like this pretty, working, and findable he was sacked out accross my lap or curled up at my feet. The tagline for this website was almost "spoiling sneakers since" next to an electronic counter counting up from July 3 2001.
